How to block credit card or Debit Card when it lost/Stolen: Nowadays everything is online, the Digital Payment systems are widely populated in our country. Most of the people have minimum one bank account and uses the facility provided by the bank. One of the most using banking facility is ATM. We can take cash anytime from an ATM counter if our account has enough money and we have the ATM card in hand.  The bank documents are very confidential things. We should be saved in a safe place.

Nowadays, people saving Debit cards or Credit cards photos on their mobile phones. If you think your mobile phone is not safe to carry this kind of documents, then never save it there. Not only in ATM, but we can also use Debit cards for online transactions as well. Today here I’m sharing how to block credit card or debit card when it lost or stolen.

Credit cards are mainly used for online transactions and purchasing things. For some websites, not required to submit an OTP or confidential password to do the transaction. So never share your credit card details to anyone. When you identify that, your credit card or debit card is lost, then raise a block credit card /debit card request instantly. There are different ways to block bank cards.

How to Block Credit Cards / Debit Cards

  1. Using Netbanking:  If you are familiar with net banking and your account has activated net banking facility, then you can raise block request via Netbanking. For that Open your bank net banking account on your smartphone or PC. Then log in into the Net banking account and look for the section ‘Card’ or ‘Services’ and raise a block request.
  2. Call customer care and raise a block request: Every bank providing customer care assistance for their customers to resolve customer’s issues easily. Just search on Google for your bank’s toll-free number and make a call and tell your issue and request to block credit card /debit card which you want to block. Before calling to the customer care, you should carry the necessary details. For authentication, the customer executive will ask you your full name, date of birth, last 4 digits of account number or card number, etc.
  3. By visiting the nearest bank branch: If you have lost your card within the bank’s working time, then go and visit the nearest branch of your bank and ask them to block the card immediately.

Keep it safe your bank accounts and all related documents. When you identify any issues, first contact with the bank. Never share bank documents with others.
