Aadhaar mobile number linking is a common discussion everywhere in India. And Today, the Central Government has simplified the process of linking existing mobile connections with Aadhaar. Also, the Ministry of Telecommunication has issued guidelines regarding all mobile companies. “The communications minister Manoj Sinha said that government has introduced three new methods, including through one-time password (OTP), to ease the process of linking the 12-digit Aadhaar identity number with individual mobile numbers.”

Through this methods, peoples can easily link mobile number with Aadhaar. “For the ease of senior citizens and the people with disability and chronic illness, DoT has also recommended for the re-verification at subscribers’ doorstep,” The Department of Telecommunications statement announced. The Supreme Court today asked whether the government would give more time to link the mobile number with Aadhaar. In this case, the Central Government’s decision will be taken on Monday. Currently, the last date for linking mobile number with Aadhaar card is December 31.

According to the new guidelines from the government, the telecom operators should provide an online tool for people to request such service and based on availability schedule the visit and complete the process. The government provides three methods through the one-time password, app-based, and interactive voice response (IVRS) facility, to link Aadhaar with the mobile numbers. This is really easy process and people can link Aadhaar and mobile number without visiting the network providers store.

Minister said, “The Aadhaar number system was designed to allow all residents of the country access to critical government services and important information that they may need from time to time.”
“Mobile penetration is increasing rapidly in the country and the subscribers need to be provided with the ease of linking of the Aadhaar number with the mobile number,” he added in his statement.
